Facile, template-free synthesis of silver nanodendrites with high catalytic activity for the reduction of p-nitrophenol

► A facile, surfactant-free process for synthesis of silver nanodendrites (SNDs) was developed. ► Shape, size and catalytic activity of the SNDs can be easily tailored by varying reaction time. ► The crystallization degree of the SNDs also affects their catalytic activities. ► The SNDs may be applied for the treatment of waste water containing p-nitrophenol.
