Visible light photocatalytic activity enhancement and mechanism of AgBr/Ag3PO4 hybrids for degradation of methyl orange

► AgBr/Ag3PO4 was synthesized using an in situ anion-exchange method. ► AgBr/Ag3PO4 displays excellent photocatalytic activity under visible light. ► OH and h+ played the major roles for MO degradation over AgBr/Ag3PO4.
