Adsorption of Cd(II) and Pb(II) onto a one step-synthesized polyampholyte: Kinetics and equilibrium studies

► A one step-synthesized polyampholyte tested for heavy metals removal. ► Low-cost polymer with high adsorption capacity for Cd(II) and Pb(II). ► Fast adsorption rate and optimal recovery. ► The polymer was used for remediation of well-water and tap-water. ► Pb(II) adsorption was enhanced in presence of soluble ions.
