Endocrine-disrupting and cytotoxic potential of anticholinesterase insecticide, diazinon in reproductive toxicity of male mice

► Neurotoxic exposures of male mice to OPs reprogram hypothalamus-pituitary metabolism. ► At the dose of 4.1 mg/kg diazinon significantly decreased the acetylcholinesterase. ► Adverse male-mediated reproductive effects may reflect the cytotoxic potential of DZN. ► Diazinon induced depressive state on reproductive performance at the high dose. ► Hypothalamus-pituitary neurotransmitters are correlated with ACh concentrations.
