Use of microwaves for in-situ removal of pollutant compounds from solid matrices

► Microwaves energy is suitable to removal pollutant compounds from solid matrices. ► VOC and soot removal represent two different case study of microwaves treatments. ► Two kinds of microwaves applicators prototype for in-situ, non-intrusive treatments are presented. ► Mathematical codes able to describe two different microwaves assisted remediation processes are proposed.
