The first Mesozoic colydiid beetles (Coleoptera: Zopheridae: Colydiinae) from the Upper Cretaceous amber of Myanmar

The first Mesozoic representatives of the family Zopheridae (Coleoptera: Tenebrionoidea) are described from the Upper Cretaceous Burmese amber. Paleoendeitoma gen. nov. (type species: P. antennata sp. nov.) and Paleoendeitoma minuta sp. nov. are undoubtedly classified in subfamily Colydiinae, tribe Synchitini, but Cretomysteria burmanica gen et sp. nov., represents an unknown clade of Zopheridae. The discovery and descriptions of the new fossil Zopheridae highlights an ancient origin and palaeodiversity of this family in the Mesozoic.
