Improving the mechanical characteristics and restraining heavy metal evaporation from sintered municipal solid waste incinerator fly ash by wet milling

► The additives can increase the Si and Al concentration, and decrease the Ca concentration to enable sintering. ► Milling process could assist to decrease the energy required for sintering and lead to the easier formation of different compounds after sintering. ► The amorphous material helped to seal the heavy metals in the sintered specimens, and was not affected by the sintering temperature.
