Sorption of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons on electrospun nanofibrous membranes: Sorption kinetics and mechanism

- All sorption processes achieve very fast and reach equilibrium after 3 h.
- Sorption capacities of ENFMs are affected by their surface area, hydrophobicity and pore volume.
- Sorption mechanisms include pore-filling, hydrophobic, hydrogen bonding and π-π bonding interaction.
