Enhanced sorption and photodegradation of chlorophenol over fluoride-loaded TiO2

► In this study we modify surface of TiO2 with fluorite and fluorapatite. ► We find these catalysts more active than bare TiO2 for organic photodegradation. ► We find that both organic sorption and hydroxyl radical production are enhanced. ► Through optimization we obtain a highly active and stable photocatalyst.
