Sequential ASE extraction of alkylphenols from sediments: Occurrence and environmental implications

► We investigated alkylphenols (APs) in the sediments by two extraction techniques. ► APs in the sediments are among the highest in the world. ► The accelerated solvent extracted-APs are 1.5 times the Soxhlet extracted-APs. ► The high extraction performance is related to condensed organic matter.
