Ipsilateral feeding-specific circuits between the nucleus accumbens shell and the lateral hypothalamus: Regulation by glutamate and GABA receptor subtypes

► Hypothesis: AcbSh and LH can mediate feeding specifically. ► Bilateral LH d-AP5 or muscimol halts AcbSh feeding. ► Ipsilateral LH d-AP5 halts and muscimol reduces AcbSh feeding. ► Only contralateral LH d-AP5 reduced AcbSh muscimol feeding. ► Results indicate a feeding-specific circuit between these regions.
