Paeoniflorin inhibits growth of human colorectal carcinoma HT 29 cells in vitro and in vivo

► Paeoniflorin can effectively inhibit the colon cancer HT29 cells. ► Importantly, Paeoniflorin can effectively decrease the tumor burden in nude mice in vivo. ► The results showed the efficiency of tumor-bearing mice treated by Paeoniflorin was superior to docetaxel in vivo.
