An approach to the toxicity and toxicokinetics of aflatoxin B1 and ochratoxin A after simultaneous oral administration to fasted F344 rats

► Kinetic behavior and toxicity parameters of AFB1 and OTA after one simultaneous oral dose in rats have been studied. ► Toxic effects were observed in liver, attributable to AFB1, while no remarkable signs of toxicity were observed in kidney. ► Results suggest a rapid absorption and metabolization of AFB1. ► AFB1 seems not to affect OTA kinetics.
