Reactive oxygen species mediated ginsenoside Rg3- and Rh2-induced apoptosis in hepatoma cells through mitochondrial signaling pathways

▶ Ginseng has been reported to have various biological effects. ▶ We examine effects of Korean red ginseng, ginsenoside Rg3 and Rh2 on Hep3B cells. ▶ KRG and ginsenosides induce apoptosis by activation of the mitochondrial pathway. ▶ KRG can be used as a potential therapeutic drug for the treatment of liver cancer.
