Decursin from Angelica gigas Nakai induces apoptosis in RC-58T/h/SA#4 primary human prostate cancer cells via a mitochondria-related caspase pathway

► This study is the first to report that decursin induce apoptosis of primary prostate cancer cells. ► Decursin caused activation of caspases-8, -9, and -3 and changes in the level of Bcl-2 family. ► AIF was upregulated by treatment with decursin. ► Decursin induced apoptosis in primary prostate cancer cells by both caspase-dependent and -independent apoptotic pathways.
