Enhanced efficacy of anticonvulsants when combined with levetiracetam in soman-exposed rats

► Levetiracetam potentiated the anticonvulsant properties of procyclidine and caramiphen sufficiently to terminate soman-evoked seizure activity. ► In combination with levetiracetam procyclidine ensured a markedly higher survival rate than caramiphen. ► The potent anticonvulsant capacity of procyclidine observed in the present study is in compliance with the high impact of this drug in seizure controlling sites in the forebrain.
