8:2 fluorotelomer alcohol: A one-day nose-only inhalation toxicokinetic study in the Sprague-Dawley rat with application to risk assessment

► 8:2 FTOH inhalation exposure and metabolism were investigated in rats. ► The parent 8:2 FTOH showed rapid uptake and clearance from the plasma. ► Metabolites were very low and similar to those in plasma following oral dosing. ► They consisted mainly of 7:3 Acid, 8:2 FTCA, PFOA and PFNA. ► Typical 8:2 FTOH air exposures do not pose toxicity risk for humans.
