RETRACTED: Ski diminishes TGF-β1-induced myofibroblast phenotype via up-regulating Meox2 expression

The Editors of Experimental and Molecular Pathology have just completed a review of a claim by Dr. Ian Dixon, and colleagues, that passages from their article in Journal of Cell Science (2014) 127,40-49 doi:10.1242/jcs.126722 entitled “The Ski-Zeb2-Meox2 pathway provides a novel mechanism for regulation of the cardiac myofibroblast phenotype” had been plagiarized in part by the authors (Zhaowei Chen, et al) of a paper published in Experimental and Molecular Pathology 97, (2014) 542-549, entitled “Ski diminishes TGF-β1-induced myofibroblast phenotype via up-regulating Meox2 expression”. After reviewing the matter and receiving a report from an impartial board of review, the Editors concluded that there was no choice but to request retraction of the manuscript in Experimental and Molecular Pathology.
