IL-10 and IFN-γ gene expression in chronic Chagas disease patients after in vitro stimulation with recombinant antigens of Trypanosoma cruzi

► Chronic Chagas disease patients present different clinical outcomes. ► Host immune response to the parasite has an important role in these manifestations. ► We evaluate the IL-10 and IFN-γ gene expression in chronic Chagas disease patients. ► We found high levels of IFN-γ in cardiac patients and IL-10 in asymptomatic. ► We highlight these cytokines in parasite control and disease susceptibility.
