► In this article we examine the receptor binding of all IFN-alpha subtypes. ► Antiviral and antiproliferative activity of all these IFN-alpha subtypes are also examined. ► In general there is a reasonable correlation of binding and activity. ► There are some notable exceptions to the binding/activity correlation.
