Novel E6 and E7 oncogenes variants of human papillomavirus type 31 in Brazilian women with abnormal cervical cytology

► We identified mutations in E6/E7 of HPV-31 and new variants with mutations never described before. ► We observed no difference in distribution of E6/E7 in clinical/epidemiological characteristic. ► We observed that the HPV-31 variants did not follow any geographical or ethnicity patterns.
