Nosocomial spread of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (types ST75 and ST137) carrying blaOXA-23-like gene with an upstream ISAba1 in a Chinese hospital

- The blaOXA-23-like gene showed a perfect association with imipenem resistance.
- Two isolates with plasmid ISAba1-blaOXA-51-like was very susceptible to imipenem.
- ST75 and ST137-type CRAB isolates with ISAba1-blaOXA-23-like caused outbreaks.
- Clones A, C and F corresponded to European clone II.
