Multilocus nuclear DNA markers and genetic parameters in an Indian Anopheles minimus population

► Anopheles gambiae genome sequence was used to design nuclear DNA markers in An. minimus. ► Eight polymorphic nuclear DNA markers were developed for population genetic studies of An. minimus. ► Population genetic tests confirm no influence of natural selection in any of these markers. ► These markers thus could be considered as “putatively neutral”. ► Population genetic structure and demography of An. minimus could be inferred using these markers.
