Multiple rearrangements in mitochondrial genomes of Isopoda and phylogenetic implications

► We sequenced five partial mitochondrial genomes from isopods. ► Mitochondrial gene order is variable among these and three formerly sequenced species. ► Mapping rearrangements and tRNA structure changes on a sequence-based tree we detect synapomorphic and homoplasious events.
