A multilocus phylogeny of the Sulidae (Aves: Pelecaniformes)

► We explored the use of species tree estimation methods in an avian family (Pelecaniformes: Sulidae). ► Species trees were completely resolved despite a lack of resolution in single gene trees. ► The endangered and endemic Abbott's booby was basal to all other sulids.
