Associations between weight-related eating behaviors and adiposity in postmenopausal Japanese American and white women

► We tested associations between weight-related eating behaviors and objective measures of total and abdominal adiposities. ► Visceral and subcutaneous abdominal adipose was measured by using DXA and MRI. ► External eating is associated with subcutaneous abdominal adiposity. ► External eating was positively associated with higher BMI, DXA total fat mass, and MRI abdominal subcutaneous fat. Routine dietary restraint was positively associated with visceral abdominal adiposity. ► Different weight-related eating behaviors were associated with depot-specific adiposities.
