Mixture of cis-3-hexenol and trans-2-hexenal attenuates behavioral and stress responses induced by 2,5-dihydro-2,4,5-trimethylthiazoline and electric footshock stress in rats

► We examined the effects of green odor on TMT- and electric footshock-induced changes. ► Green odor exposure during TMT relieved immobility and plasma ACTH elevations. ► Green odor presentation posterior to TMT alleviated plasma ACTH elevations. ► Footshock-induced plasma ACTH elevations were attenuated by simultaneous GO exposure. ► Green odor exposure after footshock alleviated fecal and plasma ACTH responses.
