- S. insularis essential oil was loaded in phospholipid vesicles.
- Faceted, unilamellar vesicles were produced, as shown by cryo-TEM and SWAXS.
- S. insularis formulations displayed a good ability to penetrate into the skin.
- S. insularis formulations exhibited exceptional cytocompatibility in vitro.
