Uptake of aromatic compounds by DNA: Toward the environmental application of DNA for cleaning water

The affinity of DNA for the aromatic compounds can be used for their removal by incorporation into DNA complexes with surfactant or cationic nanoparticles or absorption by DNA hydrogel.
