Enzymatic synthesis of phosphatidylserine using bile salt mixed micelles

► Phosphatidylserine is obtained from a marine lecithin using phospholipase D for the transphosphatidylation reaction. ► Mixed micelles based on bile salts are carefully characterized. ► The best combination of parameters controlling PS synthesis is obtained from a fractional factorial experiment. ► Sodium cholate or sodium deoxycholate leads to similar PS synthesis yields.
