Solid lipid nanoparticles as delivery systems for Gambogenic acid

► Gambogenic acid was as model drug. ► GNA-SLNs were successfully prepared by an emulsification and low temperature solidification method. ► The freeze-dried SLNs showed no evident modification in the zeta potential, encapsulation efficiency, and drug loading. ► Both GNA-SLNs and freeze-dried GNA-SLNs fitted to Higuchi equation. ► In comparion with GNA solution, bioavailability of GNA-SLNs was improved effectively.
