Fabrication of ellagic acid incorporated self-assembled peptide microtubes and their applications

► Microtubes were assembled from bis(N-alpha-amido-Thr) 1,5 pentane dicarboxylate. ► The self-assembly of the microstructures was probed at varying pH. ► The formed microtubes were utilized for encapsulation of the drug ellagic acid. ► Formed microcomposites were non-cytotoxic to mammalian cells. ► Incorporation of Ellagic acid on microtubes enhanced bacteriostatic properties.
