In situ formation of chitosan-cyclodextrin nanospheres for drug delivery

► A facile method to prepare polysaccharide-based nanospheres for drug delivery was developed. ► This method could offer good control over the particle size and does not involve any organic solvent. ► The chemically bonded nanospheres have good stability and do not disassemble when diluted. ► The nanospheres could entrap both hydrophobic and hydrophilic drugs.
