Adsorption of bacteria and polycations on model surfaces of cellulose, hemicellulose and wood extractives studied by QCM-D

► Cationic polyelectrolytes promoted adsorption of white water bacteria. ► Bacteria adsorbed massively on wood extractives in the presence of hemicellulose. ► This may be related to the pitch problems and biofilm formation in the papermaking.
