► KIBRA C-carriers exhibited an increased synchronization and reduced GMV in the DMN. ► KIBRA C-carriers exhibited an increased synchronization and reduced GMV in the ECN. ► No difference was found in the synchronization and GMV in either VN or SMN. ► Increased synchronization is likely a compensation for regional GM deficit.
