Evidence for coordinated functional activity within the extended amygdala of non-human and human primates

► Resting connectivity of the dorsal amygdala was examined in young rhesus monkeys. ► Strong coupling between amygdala and bed nucleus of the stria terminalis was found. ► Similar findings were observed in a sample of young humans. ► The results support the hypothesized macrostructural entity of extended amygdala.
