Imaging of lamination patterns of the adult human olfactory bulb and tract: In vitro comparison of standard- and high-resolution 3Â T MRI, and MR microscopy at 9.4Â T

► Paleocortical layers of the olfactory bulb can be identified using high field MRI. ► MR signal intensity profile analysis at 3T correlates with histological sections. ► MR microscopy enables the identification of all olfactory bulb paleocortical layers. ► Signal intensity profile analysis might be suitable to evaluate cortical regeneration.
