► In this study, we propose a Dynamic Causal Model for evoked and induced responses. ► We use this model to study the relationship between evoked and induced responses. ► We find that induced responses are mediated by backward connections in motor circuits. ► This model is important for disambiguating the top-down and bottom-up process.
