COMT gene polymorphism and corpus callosum morphometry in preterm born adults

►Preterm birth is associated with reduced corpus callosum (CC) size. ► Study sample comprised very preterm born adults (n=33) and healthy controls (n=29). ► The effect of COMT Val158Met polymorphism on CC morphometry was studied. ► First study to show association between COMT gene and CC size in such a sample. ► COMT gene may be a vulnerability factor for CC development after preterm birth.
