Effect of temperature and load on three-body abrasion of cermets and steel

► New device for testing in three-body abrasion at elevated temperature used. ► Cermets with addition of tetragonal zirconia, WC-Co, Cr3C2-Ni and AISI 316 are tested. ► Zirconia addition increases the wear resistance of cermets up to 7 times. ► Wear mechanisms of cermets and steel evaluated.
