Adhesive wear and frictional performance of bamboo fibres reinforced epoxy composite

► We used bamboo fibres reinforced with epoxy resin (BMBFRE) for composite fabrication. ► We conducted tribological tests on BMBFRE composite considering different fibre orientations against indigenous Pin on Disc tribo testing machine. ► Results revealed that the BMBFRE composite is superior in tribological performance when the fibres were oriented anti-parallel to the sliding direction. ►This is attributed to the formation of back film transfer on the fibres thereby lowering the material removal rate from the fibrous region.
