Epigenetic silencing of miR-130b in ovarian cancer promotes the development of multidrug resistance by targeting colony-stimulating factor 1

► Downregulation of miR-130b in 81 cases of ovarian cancer is associated with stages and histological grades. ► Downregulation of miR-130b promotes the development of multidrug- resistant ovarian cancer by targeting CSF-1. ► The silencing of miR-130b may be mediated by DNA methylation. ► miR-130b could potentially be used as a therapeutic target in treatment for multidrug resistant ovarian cancer.
