Unsteady aspects of sodium-water-air reaction

► Investigation of explosion hazards for decommissioning and washing operations in sodium nuclear reactors. ► The explosion origin is not due to H2-O2 explosion. ► The present modelling strategy used to washing cells design is not capable to foresee shock waves potentially generated by vapour explosion.
