Adsorption and diffusion of cesium ions in zirconium(IV) iodomolybdate exchanger

► New phases of zirconium(IV) iodomolybdate ion-exchangers were developed. ► Exchangers were effectively applied in removal of 134Cs from radioactive wastes. ► Exchangers exhibit high IEC improved with increasing the iodate constituents. ► The adsorption of cesium was controlled by homogeneous particle diffusion.
