Effects of water on steam rectification in a packed column

► Steam rectification was investigated in a specially designed packed column. ► Steam rectification can be operated at low temperature with good mass transfer. ► Water greatly enhances the flooding vapor velocity of the rectification. ► Water plays a crucial role in pressure drop of the packed bed near flooding point. ► Liquid water in the packed bed may promote mass transfer of steam rectification.
