Effects of solvent compositions on physicochemical properties and anti-fouling ability of PVDF microfiltration membranes for wastewater treatment

► We prepare PVDF microfiltration membranes with different solvent compositions. ► Thermodynamics controls membrane top-layer and solvent diffusion dominates sub-layer. ► Membranes prepared with DMSO exhibited better permeability and antifouling ability.
