Effect of some parameters on the performance of eletrodialysis using new type of PVDF-SiO2 ion-exchange membranes with single salt solution

► PVDF-SiO2 ion-exchange membrane was prepared with addition of SiO2 nanoparticles. ► Performance of PVDF-SiO2 membranes was better than that of PVDF membranes. ► Higher separation effect of ions was achieved using PVDF-SiO2 membranes. ► The results showed PVDF-SiO2 ion-exchange membranes can be used for desalination.
