Effects of nano sized zinc oxide on the performance of PVDF microfiltration membranes

► PVDF microfiltration membranes were modified by addition nano ZnO particles. ► The membrane hydrophilicity was improved with the addition of nano ZnO particles. ► Better mechanical properties and thermal stability for PVDF-ZnO composite membrane. ► PVDF-0.005 showed the highest pure water flux and minimum surface roughness.
