Multi-objective optimization of a cogeneration plant for supplying given amount of power and fresh water

► Combination of gas turbine (GT) with multi-effect desalination (METVC) is modeled. ► Two cogeneration plant without (CP) and with air preheater (CPAPH) is considered. ► The system supply 40 MW of power and 14,000 m3/day of fresh water. Multi-optimization study is done using genetic algorithm. ► The optimal solutions satisfy the thermodynamic and economic aspects of the system.
