► Thin film composite brackish water reverse osmosis membrane scale up production. ► Structure-performance relationship correlation by IR, SEM, contact angles and AFM. ► Salt rejection 96±2% and water flux 50-65 LMH for brackish water desalination. ► Surface modification of the TFC membrane to impart fouling resistance. ► Spiral module (4040 and 8040 size) evaluation in 500-2000 LPH capacity BW RO plants.
